Korean Drummers * Lion Father Elliott has a dramatic and impressive video on Korean Drummers he would like to share with us. ( Food Bank Day)
Friday, July 15, Lunch Lion Father Norm Elliott * Lion Elliott will give a brief program on the language of the Gwichin People, in light of the smaller languages that today are rapidly disappearing around the world.
Friday, July 22, Lunch Kevin Turkington * Kevin is COE at Senior Care of Alaska, and he will speak on the topic of "fall prevention". (Thank you Lion Dave Traver).

Lion Ed Beu * Lion Eb will show: "A Look at Alaska", a 50 year old movie that Lion Ed filmed and produced himself (we need a tv and video player).

July 4 - 8 * Lions International Convention in Seattle, WA.
Saturday, July 9 * Fireweed Bicycle Race Across Alaska. Our Lions provide food and refreshments at the 25 mile checkpoint. Precedes go to youth sporting organizations from Anchorage to Valdez, including the camp for blind and visually impaired kids: Campabilities. Contact Lion Jim or Bob to Help out. They will pick up checkpoint food from the Fireweed organizers right after our Friday Lions Lunch, and head to the aid station. The aid station is located at MP 143.7, and it will be open from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, as waves of cyclists come through needing refueling. Expect as many as 800 cyclists. Come help out at the aide station. Bring your camper, a tent, a find local accommodations. Driving up early Saturday morning is also an option, a three hour drive, I believe.

Saturday, July 16

* Food Distribution Joint Project with Latinos Lions Club 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Hispanic Cultural Center 4233 Mt. View Drive.

Monday, July 18

* Joint Sight Meeting at the Spenard Lions Club House, 2108 Roosevelt Drive, Anchorage. Start 5:30 PM.

July 23 and 24

* Ride for Life - Alaska. Our club will provide food and refreshments at Summit Lake and Kenai Lake checkpoints, and assist at the Ingram Creek checkpoint, the Summit lake overnight stay, and help the Seward Resurrection Bay Lions Club the finish line in Seward. Proceeds go to help provide affordable colorectal screening to all Alaskans. Contact Lion Bob to help out. For detailed information, download the following document.
