Jan Meyers * Jan Myers with Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Support Services will be our speaker. She will be talking about the support services provided to the Alaska Guard - which the Anchorage Lions has supported through Stockings for Troops (Thank you Lions Karen and Colette).
Friday, March 18, Lunch Tom Fink * Tom is the former mayor of Anchorage, and he will talk about public funding for private schools. (Thank you Lion Jim).
Friday, March 25, Lunch Scott Traver * Scott is a junior at Eastern Washington University, studying Computer Science and Foreign Languages. He has recently returned from a study abroad program in Morocco as a student of Arabic. His experiences brought him closer to the Arab world, and allowed him insight into some of the lesser known cultural and language barriers that are major influences in conflicts and current events. (Thank you Lion President Dave).

Other Activities


Saturday, March 5 Miners and Trappers Ball. Theme: Highway in the Sky, A Salute To Alaska's Aviators. We need out club members our in force to help with this event. Proceeds go the the USA/Canada Lions Forum - the big Lions convention in Anchorage, September 21-24. There will be a special Business Man's Brush beard contest. See Lion Neal.

Saturday, March 19

Food Distribution Joint Project with Latinos Lions Club 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Hispanic Cultural Center 4233 Mt. View Drive.

Monday, March 21

Joint Sight Meeting at the Spenard Lions Club House, 2108 Roosevelt Drive, Anchorage. Start 5:30 PM.

Monday, March 28

Anchorage Lions Board Meeting at 5:30 PM at the Westmark Hotel.
