Program

April 4

Hillary McIntosh

• Hillary is the Manager of Business Development and External Affairs for Brooks Range Petroleum Corporation, the only "wild cat" oil exploration firm in Alaska.

April 11

Bjarne Holm

• Our own Lion Bjarne will be giving a slide presentation about soil conditions along the proposed gas pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks, and then over to the Canadian Border. These are slides he took while logging soils on drill rigs back in the late 70's and early 80's. He'll show the foundation conditions we encountered, and discuss foundation design criteria for buildings and communication structures on the Slope, as well as requirements for hot oil and cold natural gas pipelines in and out of permafrost. Most of us recall that work on the gas pipeline stopped in the early 1980's when the prices of oil and natural gas took a steep price decline.
