Friday, July 4

Pot Luck Picnic and Baseball Game.

• We will have a pot luck picnic at the home of Colette and Boyd Moring, 1028 "N" Street, near 11th and the Park Strip following the 4th of July Parade. A sign-up sheet to bring salads, drinks and deserts will be available at lunch on June 20th. There will be a Pilots baseball game double header after the picnic, where Zachary, Bob and Mary Hoekzema's grandson may be pitching.

• Rise Alaska - "Destination Downtown". A presentation covering downtown project updates by Cynthia Oistad and Clara Harris.

Steve Ribuffo

• Port of Anchorage - Presentation by Steve Ribuffo, Deputy Port Director on changes and upcoming projects at the Port of Anchorage.

Elizabeth Phillips, Mike Simms, and Spancer Bailey

• Anchorage Youth Court - Presentation on a great program that teaches our future leaders (today's youth) about governmnet and legal processes.

• Fireweed 400 Bicycle Race Fund Raiser. Help man the Anchorage Lions Aid Station, giving food, liquid refreshments and other moral encouragement to bicycle riders.

Saturday / Sunday, July 19 and 20

• Ride For Life Fund Raiser. Help man the Anchorage Lions Aid Station at the top of Turnagain Pass, giving food, liquid refreshments and other moral encouragement to bicycle riders. Additional help is needed from us at the Summit Lake overnight stay at, and at the finish line in Seward on Sunday. Bring your tent or motor home and help where you can.

• Food Distribution Joint Project with Latinos Lions Club 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Hispanic Cultural Center 4233 Mt. View Drive.

Monday, July 28

• Anchorage Lions Board Meeting at 5:30 PM at the Westmark Hotel.

Friday, July 25 - Friday, August 1

• Our friends over at Anchorage Glacier Pilots Baseball need some people to represent the Pilots and sell split-the-pot tickets at the Gold Cahce Bingo. The times available are 2 sessions per night: approx. 7:30-9:30 PM and approx. 10-midnight. If anyone could volunteer to help they would greatly appreciate it, as they try and fund-raise so the team can play baseball in Wichita!
